    A fun email for Friday. I hope you enjoy!

    Edition: Friday, February 3rd, 2023

    🎤 Listen to this email here:

    Checkout this door flyer I received:

    It appears to be handwritten (it's just a convincing print) so it catches your attention. Then it explains why replacing your windows is a good idea during the "down season."

    I thought this was a great flyer that drums up business in the slow season...and the "handwritten" nature of it somehow got me to read all the way through!

    Wisdom:

    The political style of your brain is a dictatorship, not a democracy.

    You are the dictator in charge.

    Ruthlessly prune out people/news/information that doesn't serve you.

    Interesting:

    I asked people this:
    Skip to 2025. You look back and reflect on February 2023 (today). What do you wish you started doing consistently?

    @DallinsYield:

    @javs_says:
    Getting into action mode faster!

    @FrancoisRice:

    Essay:

    "Copywriting" is associated with writing words on a page, but my definition is:

    "Installing an idea into someone’s head and getting them to take action."

    The medium could be:
    - Writing
    - Images
    - Videos
    - Software
    - Combination of all the above

    The medium of transmitting information has changed many times, the human brain has not.

    Sketch:

    Apparently this is how Benjamin Franklin used to organize his day 🤔

    Almost all daily to-do list methods are similar. Like this "Ivy Lee Method" of productivity:

    Ivy-lee-method.png

    The beauty of this system is it limits you to 6 main tasks, then forces you to first organize them by importance. You can fill out a chart like this everyday:

    My own daily to-do list method looks like this:

    to-do-list-1.jpg

    I will say my daily to-do list is more complicated looking than my monthly goal layout which is very simple:

    Hey Chris:

    I wish I had been more consistent with my content, wish I put out 1 small book a year, and monetized content a little more than just selling course 🙂

    If 2025 me were looking at me right now.

    He'd be telling 2023 me don't let up, don't take things personally, & most importantly set higher standards for yourself and never go below them.

    I know things seem like they are so far out of reach but they are closer than you think.

    So 2023 Danny,

    I'm going to leave you with one story before I sign off...

    It's a story from the book think and grow rich. Now I know you are familiar with this story but I want you to keep a version of this close to you at all times.

    When Darby was stricken by the gold fever he went straight to work and started digging. He then realized that he needed machinery. They have come to realize that this mine had the potential to be one of the richest mines in the area. They kept digging but the mine had dried up Darby sold the equipment to a junk man for a couple of hundred dollars and cut his losses. The Junkman hired an expert to examine the land and come to find out Darby was only 3ft away from gold and one of the area's richest mines. After Darby had come to find out that the Junkman had hit the gold jackpot. He said to himself I will never quit again. Darby sold millions in life insurance and became a very wealthy man but used his experience to propel him forward.

    So Danny remember, you are only 3ft from gold you may just need an expert to show you where and how to adjust. No matter what use your experiences to propel you forward!

    Winners never quit, Quitters never win!

    Good point here.

    And yes, winners never quit and quitters never win.
