On some browsers this may not work by dragging the text. In that case just:
⇨ Create a bookmark
⇨ Edit the "URL" field to:
javascript:document.body.contentEditable = 'true'; document.designMode='on'; void 0

Like this:

Then you can hit that bookmark and any webpage will become "editable!"

Another tip if you copy/paste and it STILL doesn't work:

  • Make sure each ' is actually just a straight up and down character and not a stylized like this ’ (⬅️ notice the little curve).
  • For the longest time my mac would automatically turn ' into ’ when copying it into notes or copy and pasting.
  • The only fix I could find was to manually type each '

No

javascript:document.body.contentEditable = ‘true’; document.designMode=‘on’; void 0

Yes

javascript:document.body.contentEditable = 'true'; document.designMode='on'; void 0
