Good morning! Let’s re-do this classic 1950’s David Ogilvy ad for Schweppes Tonic Water →

    Here’s the original…

Let’s give it a more modernized headline 😂

    Schweppes-ad-Headline.png

What if we made it more seasonal and festive??

    Schweppes-ad-Festive.png

Let’s give it a totally different 90’s vibe (AI):

    Schweppes-ad-redos-ai.png

    Let’s make it a little more eye-catching.
    …get it…EYE catching 😏

    Schweppes-ad-visual.png

Let’s make it tropical feeling 🌴

That was a fun exercise!  🙂

    Wisdom:

I love seeing local flyers like this in the wild because :
    $2 worth of printing
    +
    $2 worth of tape
    =
Thousands of eyeballs and thousands of dollars in revenue.

    Interesting:

    Here's the world’s top podcasts from 2023:

    top-podcasters.jpg

It's interesting that each one is from a specific individual:

    Picture:

Saw my buddy @thesamparr taking an evening stroll with the baby, and definitely thought he was wearing a bullet-proof vest 😂

    Essay:

Jay Leno accidentally gives some great marketing advice when talking about the CyberTruck's controversial design.

Reminds me of the quote: "Dare to polarize; it's better to be loved by some and hated by others, than to be forgotten by all."

    jay-leno-animation.gif

Jay Leno says: “I just watch people get angry and either hate it, or love it. Bob Lutz told me when the Viper came out, half the people hated it an half the people loved it. But we’re not selling cars to the half that hate it. If you have 100 people that means 50 of them are buying it.”

It reminds me of this quote: “In a world full of ‘meh,’ be a ‘wow’. Blandness gets lost in the noise, but boldness has a chance to be heard.”

And also this quote: “If you try to be everything to everyone, you’ll be nothing to no one. Dare to polarize; it’s better to be loved by some and hated by others than to be forgotten by all.”

    Splurge:

Kopy10x is the best if you and your brand is attached to it.

Copy10x is the best if you and your brand aren’t attached to it, but copywriting is a big part of it.

Email10x is the best if the high converting content is primarily email based.

Create10x is the best if your high converting content is across different mediums.

thanks for letting us share as you often do.

I'm Lamine from France so excuse the little English mispells

So first thing first, it's a big announcement. Plenty of success for your next agency

And the winner from your list :

    E)  CopyGang like this one bc it gives the sense of a team working together

I share my opinion on the others and why they're not the right ones to go for and my suggestions at the end

    - all the 10X thing remind me of Grant Cardone he kind of owns this whole thing. There is a risk to be associated with. which is not bad necessarily.

    - all the upgrade thing it reminds of spending money more money subconsciously. It can be crontradicting if you do free newsletters

    - the word Build and its variation remind me of anything construction

To me before naming an agency : I always think of how it will sound when a receptionist picks up the phone and say : " (brand name) agency how may i help you ?

    🙂

    So here are my suggestions

    R.) BeWrite Agency
    very trendy: Beworks /Beehiv /Bschool

    S.) OhWrite ! Agency
positive connotation like taking care of other businesses

    T.) Upwrite ! Agency
aiming high, kind of fixing market(h)ing straight and robust

    Ideas of slogans
-Be well be great be right-
    -You'll be alright-

I hope you enjoyed these lil shots!

PS : No use of AI or other naming applications. I am a fan of brand design, BeSci and psychology. Expert in communication.

Oh wow thanks for this awesome feedback Lamine, and great way of looking at it through the lens of a secretary answering the phone!

I LOVE your creativity with the Schweppes lemon tonic water!
and the "in the wild" flyer taped to a pole!

I love getting your newsletter/emails. I often think I should take the kopywriting kourse if I had more time (I work full time but also do freelance design and you are an inspiration!)
But, I may end up going to freelance full time in the future so keep the emails coming!

That's so awesome to hear Rona!

While we go hard on the term "copywriting" here I actually think our end goal is always sales in the end, so no matter what field you're in I think there's some takeaway.

Thanks again for reading all these years!!

Just been catching up on the posts and emails...

I love how you did the Schweppes ad in different ways....very cool!

PS: my fave is the 'show don't tell'

    O.) GoBig

It gives the impression that people are upgrading to something exciting. And with that impression there’s probably more openness to higher fees. You gotta invest to go big, right?

    Have a great weekend.
