An educational (and fun) email by Copywriting Course. Enjoy!

One of my favorite re-brands in modern history has to be Old Spice.

They took a stodgy brand, re-did their packaging, and made fun ads that appealed to all men rather than just older men:

They went from selling $280m/yr in 2009....to over $1 billion per year by 2017!

    Wisdom:

I have a friend (Chandler Bolt) who's had a remote-only company for around 10yrs, and only recently did he get an office.

He said commercial real estate is so bad they are offering insane deals.

He got an office, but also free months, and free furniture....because it's so hard for commercial operators to find tenants right now. Kind of cool because now he can throw book launch events like this in the public conference spaces:

    Interesting:

I met one of my best friends @NoahKagan in 2003 because we read each others blogs....

...but it's actually SUPER COMMON that a lot of people I knew who blogged ended up becoming close friends with other people who blogged.

    Like Sam says here:

The modern equivalent also includes social media of course.

    Picture:

This driverless @Waymo car sits in the same spot (for about 2 months now) everyday about a block from my house. It makes random trips to pickup people, drops them off, then comes back again. I assume they station cars strategically around town to make faster pickups?

It makes a constant “whirring” sound.

I personally wouldn’t want this right in front of my house because it IS audible, but it parks in kind of a random far-away spot that doesn’t seem to bother anyone:

    Essay:

Fun fact, I made a book in 2013 and sold it for $4.99....since then it's sold a bunch of copies and brought in steady income.

Last year I doubled the price to $9.99 just to see what would happen, and while it sold slightly fewer copies with the higher price, it makes 75% more profit now:

To me a book is basically a long blog post but in paper form, but to the world it's something different.

For some reason PRINTING OUT THE WORDS INTO A BOOK takes on a whole new life.

    It's very interesting 🤔

    Splurge:

What are YOU gonna be spending on in these last ~67 days of the year??

Reply and let me know, I'm curious what peope are waiting to buy!

In that amount of time there's Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and New Year's 😬

    Have a great Friday!
    Sincerely,
