An educational (and fun) email by Copywriting Course. Enjoy!

When reviewing people's websites, a cause of confusing is too many calls to action.

One is fine. 5 is bad, and causes less people to click.

Imagine a street with signage like this: 😬

    Wisdom:

Check this video I did with Greg Isenberg (owner of 5+ agencies) where I go through his agency pages and optimize them:

Surprisingly this specific image on a page got 20 TIMES more responses than their previous version:

    Interesting:

    This is a fun fact:

Around 80% of marriages are where:
    • Partner A: Is an older sibling
    • Partner B: Is a younger sibling

There are some exceptions to this rule:
    • An only child is considered an older sibling, but with traits of a younger sibling...so they can go both ways.
    • If 7+ years between births, the next child is considered an older sibling.

Go ahead and run through your mental Rolodex of married people you know, and you'll see MOST of them fall into this! Pretty cool!

*Info from "The Birth Order Book" by Kevin Leman.

    Picture:

Here's a great fiction book I’ve been reading:
Stories Of Your Life And Others - By Ted Chiang

It’s a collection of short fiction stories compiled together:

I'm halfway through and it's been a super fun read!

I get so excited about finding good fiction books because it makes me read more before bed if I'm excited about the book.

I was previously reading this book, Red Mars.....and I just had to TRUDGE through it, and it made reading boring....so I abandoned it halfway through:

    Essay:

This is how I feel when I see too many buzzwords

    BUS-WORDS-IMAGE.jpg

Buzzwords are words that SOUND COOL but mean nothing specific.

For example, if I show you this sentence with a bunch of overly complex words:

A native primate species in the fauna has ascended the phytocrustaceous layer of a nordic triantham.

...these complex words can stack up into a "shaky pyramid" where you understand less and less the higher you go:

    shaky-words.gif

Instead I could just simply say:

There's a monkey in the tree!

So remember in your copy to ruthlessly eliminate big buzzwords that mean nothing, and replace them with simple words people understand:

    Splurge:

We're closing our $97/mo plan for the rest of the year to avoid "Last Minute Guy."

Last Minute Guy buys Copywriting Course for all the live re-writing and help, but he does it two days before he needs evvveeryything:

We love doing all the stuff Last Minute Guy asks....but we need more than two days.

Ideally if you're doing Copywriting Course you join for a full year and take your time to slowly absorb information, and work on it in our live forum and Office Hours:
