βThis is a fun email for Thursday November 25th, 2021.
Hope you like it :)
π¦ !!HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! π¦

Swipe:
Happy Thanksgiving! But staring tomorrow (Friday) this is about to be you bombarded with deals from the internet and mail π
Our of pure curiosity I was wondering how Amazon.com's Black Friday's have evolved, and while pulling up screenshots of different years it was like watching a child grow up!
The site goes from so simplistic, to well designed over the years!
Interesting note: Look how in the last few years the search bar became the primary feature on the page.

Thought:
Remember that New Year's is around the corner and everyone scrambles to make New Year's Resolutions around that time.
I'd implore you to instead start thinking about what you want for 2022 now.
It's November 2021 now. Where do you want to be in November 2022?
Think about it.
You can even reply to this email letting me know where you want to be. I might not answer all of them, but simply defining your goal is a huge step!

Uplifting:
I'm helping two lucky winners build up their "Marketing Books" collection by giving away 9 of my favorite marketing books (plus a Cβ₯οΈPY Shirt)!

I made a video explaining each book:

Picture:
I recently had dinner with famous investor Peter Thiel, and my #1 observation was how he had a spectrum of "theories" for everything.
For Example:
If I asked about his thoughts on inflation, he would respond with something like:
"Ok, here's the theories....."
Then he would have 3 different "theories" that could happen:
Generally these "theories" would range from:
β€ Normal and boring scenario π
β€ Good & bad mixed scenario π§
β€ Crazy worst case scenario π³
He would then elaborate on each scenario to determine the probability of each.
I personally LOVED this form of thinking! It was fascinating to watch him "think on the go" in this manner.
It seemed to be the pure definition of "open mindedness" since he rarely thought anything was purely black or white, but rather could be a spectrum of possibilities ranging from boring to crazy conspiracy.
Super cool Mental Model of thinking!

Interesting:
It's interesting to "work backwards" into the amount of money you want to make.
If you're selling a product or subscription, this is how many customers (and corresponding price) to make a cool $1m.

Do-Over:
Sometimes when we re-write articles, advertising, or email....even we're not 100% sure which one will do the absolute best, so we test.
Testing just means firing out multiple versions, and see what works best.
Here's a Before/After of our own black Friday. We make images in Canva.
For example, for that Giveaway video we made 3 different YouTube thumbnails to see which would work best:
Version 1:
Β
Version 2:
Β
Version 3:
The truth is you never know which specific version will work best, so you can lazy-test the images on social media or run them by people to see which gets clicked the most.
We even do this with our own Black Friday Sale....you can see 8 different images we made to see what would work best:
Speaking of Black Friday, we're running this sale right now, 55% off Copywriting Course if you go use coupon code BLACKFRIDAY at checkout right now!
If you were ever thinking of joining CC but price was an issue, this is literally the best time in history to buy! (If you're already a CC member your renewal price is automatically set to the lowest we ever offer, so you're already taken care of)!
Hope you enjoyed these little tidbits, have a happy **Thursday**!
(We'll be back to doing these emails on Friday next week) π
