The car is hideous, but the ad is lovely!
![1976 chevette ad](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_1976-chevette.jpg)
This 1976 magazine ad had almost no copy, and let the unique design and shape (ESPECIALLY for that era) stand out and do the talking.
Love it!
Thought:
At the beginning of the month we ask members to submit 3 goals to complete for they month. This is amazing for accountability!
![goals-cropped.png](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_goals-cropped.png)
The reason I limit this to 3 goals per person, is when you write down like 15 goals in a month, it just becomes a Giant Scary List of Goals 👺
![giant scary goal list](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_giant-scary-goal-list.png)
However just 3 simple goals is TOTALLY DO-ABLE, like this:

Hope you've made your goals for the month already!
Uplifting:
Did you know:
TACOCAT spelled backwards is .....TACOCAT!
![tacocat shirt](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_tacocat-shirt.jpg)
I was either gifted this shirt or stole it from a friend.....I don't remember, but this is a profound message that must be spread 😂
Picture:
Over the 4th of July me and a couple of friends went paddle boarding on the lake in Austin and sat almost directly under the fireworks, it was so neat!
Taking off for about a mile of paddling before the fireworks
Chatting and hanging on a smooth lake
Lazily paddling and drifting towards fireworks as sun sets
![Noah right as a firework burst](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_noah-as-fireworks-burst-scaled.jpg)
Got a cool shot of my buddy Noah right as a firework burst (that big sail-looking building is the second new Google building)
Got another cool shot of the crowd behind us right as a firework burst so it was bright enough to take the pic!
Interesting:
I recently did a little A/B split tested on 11,923 people each.
Can you guess which subject line won??
Subject A: "1-person media companies" -or- Subject B: "Creating digital assets"
![a-b-split-test](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_a-b-split-test-scaled.jpg)
"B" WAS THE WINNER!
Buuuuuuuuut....it only won by 0.2%
![a b split test winner](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_a-b-split-test-winner.jpg)
I've learned over time that subject lines are reasonably important, but they don't hold a candle to your overall sender reputation!
If your mom sends you an email with a "meh" subject line, I bet it'll still get 100% open :-)
I notice this all the time with subject line split tests. Something will "win" but have no statistical significance.
One interesting thing to try is an A/A test where you split test the exact same subject line against itself, and it'll still be a different result!
Drawing:
I remember doing a bunch of drawings to figure out the perfect logo for Copywriting Course
![copywriting course logos](http://ips-cic-filestore.s3.amazonaws.com/v328378/pages_media/5_copywriting-course-logos.png)
I spent a while on it, and you know what I found??
I'll tell you...
...
.........
...............
.....................
...........................
.................................
.......................................
.............................................
.....................................................
...............................................................
No one cares!
...............................................................
Like.....it really doesn't matter what your logo is!
So if you're starting a new side business, and you're spending way too much time figuring out a tagline or a logo....FORGET IT! Pick something and move on.
You can always change it, and most likely it matters zero 😬
Hope you enjoyed these little tidbits, have a happy Friday :)
