The goal of a sale is to get people to take action, but first you have to get their attention

    Wisdom:

Google Docs now has tab support, this is huge!

Now a simple Doc can keep all your notes organized in one place. No need for 5 different Docs for a project.

    tabs.jpg

Already I've consolidated a bunch of docs together, revised a book Doc to separate the chapters with tabs, and was able to combine a bunch of random Docs on my bookmarks into one.

    So much better!

    Interesting:

I think the years 2025 -to- 2030 sounds like a nice round number set of years to plan out.

    Here's how I'm doing it:

    5-year-plan.webp

I'm then listing out things I wanna accomplish in those years, like:

2025: Pet a dog, ride a rollercoaster, eat a Cheeto.
    2026: Stuff. • 2027: Stuff, stuff.
    2028: Stuff, stuff, stuff.
    2029: Stuff, stuff, stuff stuff.
2030: What I want to accomplish by this time.

    ....you get the point!

Some interesting questions to ask yourself could be:

    • What things you want to have? (Car, house, etc).
    • What lifestyle you want to be living? (Wild, wholesome family).
    • How much money you want to have ($10,000 saved? $10m saved? 1B saved?)

It's nice to have these goals and then be able to "work backwards."

    Picture:

    I like this concept:

    healthy-habits.png

    Credit: Hal Elrod

The funny thing about this.....is every once-in-a-while an actual magic formula comes out.

Something like Ozempic that can lose weight for you. Something like ChatGPT that can write for you.

...but they most often have some downsides and eventually people have to go back to the healthy habits.

    Essay:

My favorite thing to do is "Work Backwards" on a goal. It's simple:

    Step 1.) Make a goal.
Step 2.) Work backwards to see how to accomplish it.

    today-to-goal.webp

So if I want to write 10 chapters of a book by the end of the year, it's easy to "Work Backwards" to that goal and plot out writing each chapter:

    today-work-backwards-book.webp

This is a very simple yet powerful framework.

    Splurge:

Before any big holiday sales seasons we have to take away our $97/mo plan because most people's biggest holiday promotions are in this timeframe:

    oct-to-2025.webp

In this time people frequently realize how many holiday sale events happen in this short amount of time:

    holee-cow.webp

Obviously this means people's businesses are often heavily Q4 dependent on this "heavy revenue" season:

Also...most the biggest "spending events" of the year happen in Q4:
    🗓 Halloween
    🗓 Thanksgiving
    🗓 Black Friday
    🗓 Cyber Monday
    🗓 Christmas
    🗓 New Year’s

....and inside Copywriting Course we get super busy optimizing people's
    ✔️ Emails
    ✔️ Images
    ✔️ FB Ads copy
    ✔️ Google Ads copy
    ✔️ Autoresponder copy
    ✔️ Email campaign copy
    ✔️ Social media post copy
    ✔️ Website campaign copy
    ✔️ Funnel flow planning.......

So we take away the $97/mo plan so people don't jump in for one month and ask 4,000,000 last minute questions they should have optimized for months before.

Anyways, if you want that $97/mo plan before it goes away then jump in here and then you can get us to review all your marketing:

Neville, I spoke to you on Office Hours about trying to find people on LinkedIn that would like to buy or sell a home.

You suggested that I ask them if they would like to get a list of homes.

I have started doing that and it is working!

A strategy that many people employ to grab traffic from Google and social media is combine their content into long-form SEO and social content:

    google-image.webp

I explain how I personally do it in this video "Top of Feed vs Top of Search" in this video:

"Top of Feed" means being on top of the social media feed. "Top of Search" means being on top of Google.

So which is better? I explain in the video how all of these forms of content get rolled out and work together:

    top-of-feed-and-search.webp

    Wisdom:

In my view there's likely no specific purpose to life. I've always thought this and found it to be very comforting.

    The evidence is this:
There's 10^80 atoms in the universe swirl around, stick together, forming more and more complex things, then destruct.

    (That's 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms)!

Only 1-octillion'th of those atoms comprise Earth. That's very little.

The odds us being special and "having a purpose" are very very low.

Now, this isn't depressing. The moral of the story is:
Enjoy what you’re doing now, this IS the journey!

    Interesting:

I still can't believe Jerry Seinfeld is 70:

    jerry-seinfeld-age-70.PNG

In my opinion he looks pretty fantastic for 70, and it's very inspiring:

    jerry-pics.png

Chris Rock had a great quote on why some people look so great: "Being rich is the best lotion." 😂

One thing I've admired about Jerry through the years is he's always been consistent with his health. He's never got too skinny or too fat, he drinks alcohol but not too much, he works out but isn't a muscle head, he has a career but also raises a family.

He seems to have a sense of moderation and consistency that I admire.

I got married this past weekend!!

The whole thing went off perfectly beyond my wildest dreams, and it was awesome.

Ironically since I was getting married I got very few pics of my own, and all the pics are streaming in from friends/photographers etc (Indian weddings are long, multiple event, multi-day, nearly week-long events....so there's a lot) 😂

Here's a little taste from this past Saturday

Here's the horse I rode into the wedding on:
    nevs-horse.jpg

I was 9 or 10 feet in the air, and we crossed a bridge with ~3 foot railings, and since everyone was dancing, the whole bridge starting shaking!

    bridge-shaking.webp

The bride and her crew welcomes me, they watched the Baraat procession as I arrived over the bridge:

    bride-and-crew.jpg

My groomsmen really brought the energy which was fun!

    groomsmen.jpg

    Some shots hanging out before:

    before-wedding.jpg

    before-wedding-2.webp

    The religious ceremony:

    the-ceremony.jpg

We're still in the afterglow of the wedding and I don't want to overshare, so I'll end the photos here!

    Essay:

Living long is cool, but think about how few of your crew would still be around:

    • At 10 years old, 99.19% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 20 years old, 98.75% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 30 years old, 97.24% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 40 years old, 95.27% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 50 years old, 92.21% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 60 years old, 85.41% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 70 years old, 72.84% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 80 years old, 50.57% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 90 years old, 18.30% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 100 years old, 0.99% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 110 years old, 0.003% of people your age are still alive.
    • At 120 years old: Not enough examples to know.

I set my death date at 85 partially because of this. After 80 years old look at that insane drop of people your age who are still alive.

    Splurge:

Q4 is about to start! We've already been preparing so many businesses inside our members areas sales pages, emails etc for the upcoming busiest-quarter-of-the-year.

As always during this time we remove our $97/month plan (so we don't get last minute "DO ALL MY COPY FOR ME THE DAY BEFORE BLACK FRIDAY" people 😂

If you want to hop in at that price point, now is the time!

I love "crappy ads" like this because:

1.) They are easy to make.
2.) They grab attention so well.
3.) They make me laugh 🤣

Checkout this one from the City of Los Angeles:

This is another addition to my "crappy design folder" for sure 😂

    Wisdom:

There's a phenomenon called "Traffic Waves" which cause traffic out of nowhere.

The funny thing is, they're often caused by ONE asshat driver who does something stupid, then the consequences form a "wave" like this:

    traffic-wavevs.gif

I did an experiment about this in college and videotaped hours of traffic on I-35 from a tall building hotel.

When you speed up the footage of traffic, you can always pinpoint it to like ONE car slowing down or being too timid in traffic and causing mass traffic for miles.

    Interesting:

“This was written using a computer.” No one cares about that anymore. Everything is written or read on a computer now.

Similarly, “Written with AI” will cease to be a distinction.

My opinion is that moving forward less people will care if something is written with AI, or researched with AI, or created with AI.

The obvious exception is if someone is specifically presenting themselves as a human author but AI is writing:

    Essay:

This was a random note I wrote 10 years ago, displayed verbatim:

    Here’s the computer program of my life: load (Neville){
    0: Born
    20: Make money
    30: Slow down
    40: Family
    50: End competitive working life
    60: Family
    85: End;
    }
Yours is likely the same, maybe some variance in numbers.

Almost every biography I’ve ever read ends with “wish I spent even more time with friends and family.”

The journey is the point 🙂
