    The S.T.U.P.I.D. Email (4-16-2021)

(Swipe, Thought, Uplifting, Picture, Interesting, Drawing)

This is a fun email for Friday April 16th, 2021. Hope you like it :)

    Listen as audio:

    Swipe:

This is a unique Band-Aid magazine ad that made it really simple to understand that for big scrapes you use a big Band-Aid.
I love their use of making everything black and white except the product being showcased:

    Thought:

Here's a typical Course Creator life cycle I've noticed:
    • Make course
    • Repeat course
    • Repeat course, add financing options.
    • Create new course
    ♻️Repeat 3X
    • Have too many courses
    • Bundle courses
    • Create SaaS
    In the meantime:
    • Invest in companies
    • Add a community component
    • Build general audience
I wonder if you've seen this with people you follow :-)s.

    Uplifting:

If you ever get overloaded email/tasks/work/chats, then here's my 3 tips to stay sane:
    thinking-about-email-tasks-work-chats.pn
1.) Make a to-do list the night before.
2.) Once done with that to-do list, no more work allowed at all.
3.) Never add stuff for the to-do list the same day. If someone asks you for something, reply with “Ok I’ve got it on my calendar for tomorrow!”
    That's it.
This helps you put in a "fair day of work" and not overdo it.

    Picture:

There was a photographer in Hong Kong named Fan Ho who takes these BRILLIANTLY colored photos.
I don't know why or how, but the colors just "pop" on the screen.
    So beautiful!

    Interesting:

A student wanted to do CopyWork on some classic ads (hand writing other people's work to get a feel for it), and wrote out the Gary Halbert "Coat of Arms" mailer.
    Her handwriting is amazing!

    CopyWork Coat of Arms2
I also hand wrote this letter, and knew I would publish a picture of it, so this is my absolutely BEST handwriting:
    CopyWork Coat of Arms nev
The letter being copied is called "The Coat of Arms Letter" which was an extremely successful direct mail campaign:
    Coat of Arms letter
The letter was written by Gary Halbert who targeted people by their family name and sold family crests in the early 1970's. It was Gary Halbert's first gigantic success.

    Drawing:

The "Circle Of Influence" concept is a wheel that shows what you should (and should not) be paying close attention to:
Circle of Control: Things you can fully control. Focus on these most.
Circle of Influence: Things you can have an impact on but can't fully control.
External Circle: Things you can't control, and therefore shouldn't think about too much.

Hope you enjoyed these little tidbits, have a happy Friday :)
